My First Bath

Ethan had his very first bath at home last night. He was a real trooper and did great! It took mom, dad and grandma to get it done though!

First little smile

I know that this isn't a "real" smile but I just had to share. I just can't believe how much my little guy is changing each day. Our first night home was a little rough but we made it through ok. Hopefully tonight will go better.

Ethan Rohan Bhosale

Ethan has arrived and boy it was an exciting delivery. The short version is that we went to the hospital at 1 am on Monday and were sent home at 3 only 1 cm dilated. I then had the worst 2 hours of my life in I was contracting every 2 min with no break in between. At 5 am we decided we should go back to the hospital ( I was begging for drugs at this point) and arrived at 5:15. I was fully dilated and little Ethan arrived a mere 30 min later. He weighed in at 6 lb 10 oz and was 20.5 in long. He is just a perfect little guy and we couldn't be more happy! We are now home and we are all doing well!

Like Mother like Son...

Well we know of one trait that my son is getting from his mommy-my big feet!! We had our last ultrasound yesterday to find out how big baby Ethan is and he looks great! He is right around 7 lbs right now which is very average for 38 weeks. Our sono tech had a hard time getting a good weight at first because he is so low on me. This is actually a good thing because he is in a great position for labor. Our tech did however seem surprised by one thing...the size of his feet! She told us she just had to measure it and was very shocked at how big it was. She commented that she hasn't seen a foot that big on a baby not born yet! Needless to say little Ethan's feet are already 3.5 inches long!!!! Looks like we have a tall one in there that we will have to start in swim lessons at an early age! Maybe we are growing the next Michael Phelps!!! Regardless of his feet size we have at most 3 weeks left but we are hoping it is much sooner. They will only allow me to go to 41 weeks before they would induce but like I said we are praying he comes on his own much much sooner than that!!!

All my bags are packed I'm ready to go...

But unfortunately I'm not leaving on a jet plan ;) We are all packed and ready and waiting for our little guy to decided to make his appearance into the world! We have had good reports from the doctor the last two weeks and the best part is NO MORE BEDREST!!! I am currently 1 cm dilated and 50% effaced so we are making slow but steady progress. It seems like two weeks ago he was in such a hurry to come out but now he is taking his time. That is best I guess because he needs to keep gaining weight to be strong and healthy. I just hope he doesn't make me wait until past my due date now! ;) I am becoming very anxious to hold my little guy in my arms and it is really trying my patience waiting on him. I'm sure just the first of my times he will try my patience in his lifetime! It will all be worth the wait though!

All our bags and Ethan's ride home all waiting by the back door!

Nursery Room

We are all finished with Ethan's Room. I am very pleased with how it turned out. Thanks again to Grandpa Tony for hanging the chair rail!! (and daddy for hanging all the pictures and the shelf while I was on bedrest :) )

Doctors appt

Well we had another doctors appointment today and I have to say it wasn't as smooth as all the others have been. Let me start off by saying Ethan is doing great and is a healthy little guy in there. He is however getting very ready to make his appearance into this world and we are not quite ready for that. According to the doctor I have not started to dilate but am starting to soften and having contractions. They monitored me for 30 min today and in that time I had 3 contractions. Because of this they have recommend that I stay off my feet as much as possible. That means no more laundry, cleaning house, grocery shopping etc. I have to say I am torn as to if this is a good thing that I don't have to do all that now or bad that I can't :) As of now we are just taking it a day at a time. We have to make it at a minimum 10 more days to 35 weeks. If we get to that point we won't have to have the aggressive steroids to ensure his lungs are good and healthy. So lots of prayers he stays put for at least 10 more days. We go back again on Friday so I will keep you all posted on how things go!
